Creative Europe MEDIA Desk MK

Supporting Europe's Film and Audiovisual industries in the development, distribution, and promotion of their projects.

In the frame of 37th edition of International Cinematographer's Film Festival "Manaki Brothers", which will be organized in the period between 10 and 17 September 2016, active participation will take Creative Europe Desk - MEDIA Sub-programme. On 13 September it will be organized MEDIA Info session and right after that Masterclass of our guest Ms. Graziella Bildesheim from MAIA Workshops, on the subject „Directing a Project: the Producer’s Job“. Next day on 14 September, in the period between 10.00 and 13.00, it will be organized MEDIA Open Stand, where all interested potential applicants can get individual consultation about possibilities offered by MEDIA Sub-programme. After accessing of Macedonia in the MEDIA Sub-programme in July 2015, this year's 37 edition of "ICFF Manaki Brothers" got its support.

  • 13.09.2016 / 12.00-13.00; Small Hall, Center of Culture Bitola: Masterclass of Graziella Bildesheim from MAIA Workshops, in organization of MEDIA Desk MK and Macedonian Film Agency, "Directing a Project: the Producer’s Job". While we all agree that the director is King in directing his film, the producer’s role in making it possible is not always understood in its entire complexity. The masterclass aims at exploring the multifaceted and fascinating reality of the producer’s job in Europe today.
  • 14.09.2016 / 10.00-13.00; Bitola Theater: MEDIA Open Stand

Within the festival for creative documentary film "MakeDox", which for the seventh time will be held from 20 to 26 August in Kurshumli An, Macedonian MEDIA Desk in the days 22 to August 26 will have open stand, which will operate between 17:00 and 18.00. The stand will provide information to potential interested applicants about the opportunities offered by the sub-program MEDIA of Creative Europe. MakeDox festival is one of the first Macedonian applicants who have received support from MEDIA.

Institute and Museum of Bitola was host of Creative Europe Info Day, which was held on 13.06.2016. During the event were presented opportunities for application within the Culture and MEDIA sub-programs. The main goal was to provide information to potential beneficiaries about the upcoming calls for application.

These sub-programs are open for all institutions and organizations that deal with culture or media activities. Institute and Museum Bitola has already benefited from the program for Culture. Receiving the projects depends on the applicants and the purpose for which they apply. The previous experience of using these assets is quite positive.

Since July 2015, Macedonia is also part of the MEDIA sub-program and MEDIA Desk started to functioning from April 2016. Primarily MEDIA Desk is designed to provide support to the Macedonian film producers and representatives of audio-visual sector.

Currently in terms of use of funds from the MEDIA sub-program has the biggest interest is for the calls for Support of Film Festivals and Single Project Development. Office of the Creative Europe for MEDIA sub-program is in frame of Macedonian Film Agency and the Department of Creative Europe for Culture sub-program is in frame of the Ministry of Culture.
