On September 23rd 2018, in Hotel Epinal, Bitola, MEDIA Desk Macedonia will organize the event “The 1-st Close up gathering in honour of international cinematographers" within the frames of the 39.ICFF “Manaki Brothers”.

The idea for this event is to mark the beginning of the series of meetings called "Close ups", initiated by MEDIA Desk MK, which will be held throughout the year in order to bring together professionals from the audiovisual sector exchanging experiences and solutions for specific issues. Each "Close up“ will be dedicated to a different topic and will include specific local and foreign professionals from individual areas in the sector that MEDIA supports. Of course, the foundation of these meetings is based on the support of the Creative Europe MEDIA program and MEDIA Desk in Macedonia will always stimulate Macedonian applicants to get financial means in order to realize the ideas and the projects they have envisioned.

This year's festival edition will feature 7 films supported by the Creative Europe-MEDIA program, 3 of which are in the Official Selection.
Among the seven films is the documentary "In praise of nothing" by the Serbian director Boris Mitić, who, with the support of MEDIA Desk MK, is coming to the festival to hold a workshop with the students on September 25th at 13h in the Sall hall. The film "In praise of nothing" received 50,000 euros of financial support from MEDIA in the Call for TV programming, which is open to independent European production companies whose business plan includes cooperation with at least three television companies from several member states of the MEDIA sub-program.

On 24 August, starting at 12.00, in the Electronic Hall of Veles Municipality, it will be held Creative Europe Info session for the sub-programmes Culture and MEDIA.
