Creative Europe MEDIA Desk MK

Supporting Europe's Film and Audiovisual industries in the development, distribution, and promotion of their projects.

Macedonian MEDIA Desk at the invitation of the Creative Europe MEDIA Desk from Bulgaria, on 18 March participated at this year's Sofia Meetings, which took place within the Sofia Film Festival. The event was entitled "CREATIVE EUROPE MEDIA NEW MOMENTS AND GOOD PRACTICES FROM OUR NEIGHBORING COUNTRIES". In this ocassio were given examples of the implementation of Creative Europe MEDIA sub-programme from Bulgaria, Croatia, Macedonia, Czech Republic and Greece. With the event was given visibility and recognition of projects from the region and this was an opportunity for exchanging experiences between film professionals from above mentioned countries. Beside the presentation, it were realized several individual consultation concering MEDIA.

The MEDIA event was realized by Kamen Balkanski - Head of MEDIA Desk Bulgaria, Martina Petrovic - Head of the MEDIA Croatia, Vladimir Stojcevski - Head of the MEDIA Desk Macedonia, Kristyna Plohonova, fom the workshop MIDPOINT from Czech Republic and representatives of Mediterranean Film Institute from Greece, who presented the program Script 2 Film.

On 1 December 2016, in Center for innovation and design - Public Room in Skopje, it will be organized presentation of both Creative Europe Sub-Programmes (Culture and MEDIA). Guests of the event will be Creative Europe Desk - Culture from Netherlands and Creative Europe Desk - MEDIA from Bulgaria.

Project of Macedonian distribution and production company "Cutaway" for new digital forms of film distribution in the Balkans, is one of the 10 selected projects, out of 31 applications for On-line Distribution, which this year will receive support from the MEDIA sub-programme of "Creative Europe", which supports development, distribution and promotion of film in Europe. Thus, "Cutaway online and offline: New digital forms of distribution of the film in the Balkans" is the first such project in Macedonia, which received financial support from the MEDIA in amount of up to 58,000 euros. The project which will be implemented in cooperation with partners from Albania and Croatia, was supported through evaluation of a group of independent experts according to the rules of the call and the decision was made based on the quality of the project and projected budget for its realization.
