In the frame of Skopje Film Festival on 26.04.2016 in cinema "Frosina" - Youth Cultural Center, was organized the first Info day of the MEDIA Desk MK.
- The role of the MEDIA Desk is to provide technical support, to inform potential applicants and to be on their disposal in order to help them in preparation of high-quality applications, said Vladimir Stojčevski, Head of MEDIA Desk MK.
He informed that Macedonia became a member of MEDIA in July last year, and before that the country had access only to the Culture sub-program.
- "Creative Europe" for the period 2014-2020 years, has two sub-programs "Culture" and "MEDIA". Macedonia first time last year accessed to the "MEDIA" sub-program, which means that MEDIA funds are now available for the film professionals and Audio-Visual sector in general. Not only for those who are engaged in film production, but also for those who are working in the fields oif distribution, organization of training programs etc... said Stojčevski and added that the most of the film professionals are already informed about possibilities of MEDIA.
On the past calls, we had two applications for Development of Single Projects and two application for Support of Film Festivals. For the Development of Single Projects, MEDIA support will get the film "Sugar kid" by director Igor Ivanov and Film festivals "Manaki Brothers" and "MakeDox" will also receive support from MEDIA.
- For all three projects, the total financial support is amounted to 123,000 euros, said Stojčevski and added that in the following period is expected support for other projects which are already submitted to MEDIA.
According to him, for preparation of quality application first of all it's necessary good idea for project and carefully reading of conditions for each of the calls described in the guidelines. Stojčevski announced that this year MEDIA Desk MK will have more promotional activities which are planned within the festival.
