MEDIA presentation and screenwriting workshop on Cinedays

On 14.11.2016 (Monday) as part of the 15th edition of the Festival of European Film "Cinedays", in organization of MEDIA Desk MK, Macedonian Film Agency and training program Midpoint from Czech Republic, it will be realized presentation of MEDIA program and screenwriting workshop. The workshop, which will be realized by Mr. Arne Kohlweyer, aims to reveal the complex inner emotions of the character as one of the most difficult tasks facing a filmmaker. Arne Kohlweyer talking about the need to externally express the inner at the stage of writing the script and gives examples of how to use actions and images instead of dialogue, to show what happens inside a character.

Arne Kohlweyer was born in 1981 in Wolgast (on the Baltic island Usedom) and grew up in Berlin. In 2008 he finished his studies in film directing at FAMU in Prague. Prior to that he studied photography in Graz, Austria, literature in Frankfurt/Oder, Germany and film theory at the University of Gothenburg in Sweden. He is an alumnus e.g. of Berlinale Talents, the Torino Film Lab and the Locarno Summer Academy. Arne has made various short films and directed for German television. He is member of the German Screenwriter’s Guild (VDD) since 2010. He currently lives and works as independent screenwriter, director, script consultant and seminar-teacher in Berlin, where he is also managing since 2011 the Script Station (screenwriter’s project lab of Berlinale Talents) as well as in Halle/Saale, where he acts as head of development for 42film and associate producer for international co-productions.
